When my wife and I went to the Bahamas in 2008, it was only for three days and we found that we needed to plan well to squeeze in all we wanted to do. Besides enjoying the Atlantis facilities next door to our room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island, we participated in the Bahamas' People to People program which links you up to a family in the Bahamas who spends the day with you and takes you around the island you're staying at. Our hosts were Ted and Monique Toppin, Ted a lawyer and Monique a college professor. Needless to say they were a wealth of information and added a great dimension to our visit. We also made a last-minute decision to spend a day on Harbour Island and enjoy the island's incredible Pink Sands Beach (see photo on my home page), which has to be seen to be believed. We were fortunate enough to return to the Bahamas in 2010 and revisit these places.
